Aerial Pictures Reveal Iranian Navy and Nuclear Facilities Targeted by US-Israeli Airstrikes.

Multiple joint strikes has according to analysis destroyed or damaged at least 11 Iran's navy ships starting Saturday, recently obtained orbital imagery demonstrate, with launch facilities and enrichment plants also coming under fire.

Images of the southern Konarak naval naval base and the Bandar Abbas port installation, which overlooks the strategic Hormuz Strait and houses the main command of the Iranian navy, show black smoke pouring from multiple ships on recent days.

Maritime Fleet Sustained Significant Damage

Among the vessels destroyed was the IRINS Makran, Iran's largest naval vessel which had been used as a unmanned aerial vehicle platform. Orbital photos displayed thick smoke pouring from the vessel which had been moored at the Bandar Abbas base.

Analytical evaluations suggest that at least five ships at the port were "struck or destroyed". Imagery of the southern part of the harbor show smoke emanating from the Makran, while two other vessels appear to be harmed, with one of them clearly on fire.

At the Konarak base, images display multiple stricken ships, with analysis pointing to strikes against a half-dozen warships. Photos from the start of the week also indicate that several facilities at the installation have been leveled.

"For many years the Tehran government has threatened commercial vessels," the head of US Central Command declared. "Today, there is not one vessel from Iran operational in the Arabian Gulf, Hormuz Strait or Sea of Oman, and we will not stop."

A number of vessels allegedly destroyed may have been hidden in satellite images by cloud or smoke, or struck at sea, and have yet to be fully confirmed. Additional information indicated that an Iranian vessel was going down off the coast of Sri Lankan waters, resulting in a search and rescue mission.

Missile Sites and Nuclear Locations Targeted

The destruction of Iranian missile bases and the stopping nuclear weapons development were listed as further objectives of the air campaign. Aerial imagery also revealed impacts against the southern Khorgu base and northwestern Tabriz missile bases, and at the Konarak air air base, where weapons bunkers and fortifications were struck.

Over at the Choqa Balk-e unmanned aircraft site to the west of Kermanshah, significant destruction was identified to sheds, bunkers and drone launch equipment.

Damage was also observed at a radar site at the Zahedan airbase airbase in eastern Iran, close to the border with neighboring nations.

Of particular note, the most recent series of attacks have reportedly targeted facilities at Natanz – long said to be at the center of the country's atomic program. A global monitoring agency stated that the damaged buildings were used for entry to the site's below-ground enrichment facility and that "no nuclear fallout" was anticipated.

Broader Impact and Analysis

Military analysts stated that the offensive appeared to have "largely neutralized" the Iranian navy's ability to sustain traditional warfare using its most significant vessels. However, it was emphasised that Tehran still has the ability to launch unconventional attacks at sea through the use of unmanned aerial vehicles, mini-submarines and its so-called "clandestine network" of tankers.

The full scale of the destruction caused to Iran's defense infrastructure is still uncertain, with strikes reportedly persisting. Pictures also reveals considerable destruction to the command center of the the IRGC in the capital Tehran.

A large number of civilian buildings also are reported to have been struck in the capital and across Iran since the hostilities escalated. Reports of deaths from local officials state that many hundreds of civilians may have been lost their lives in the bombardment.

With the conflict ongoing, review of space-based data will persist to assess the unfolding battlefield picture.
