The British player reached the third round in three Grand Slam tournaments Grand Slam events this year.

Emma Raducanu from Great Britain has pulled out of her final two events of the year as a result of a medical condition she has been fighting over the past 10 days.

The 22-year-old was due to play in events in Asia but has decided to fly home to regain her health ahead of launching plans for the 2026 season.

Those preparations are set to feature her coach Francisco Roig, as they will keep partnering for the upcoming season.

She required blood pressure checks during her first-round match with Ann Li in Wuhan last week and retired when losing 6-1 4-1 on a very muggy occasion.

She needed once more a visit from the doctor at this week's Ningbo Open, where she fell in a three-set match to Zhu Lin, a Chinese wildcard in round one.

She was also playing with clear difficulty in the third set against Zhu due to the lower back problem that has troubled her on several occasions in 2025.

These outcomes meant an encouraging season, in which she climbed into the international top 30 after more than three years in more than three years, ended with three successive defeats.

She held three match points before losing to Pegula in the third round in last month's Beijing event.

The player achieved twenty-eight matches in the current season and made it to the semi-final round in Washington, but the highlight of her season was at March's Miami Open.

As Britain's top player made the last eight of a premier WTA event, defeating eighth seed Emma Navarro during the tournament prior to a loss in a three-set match to Pegula, ranked fourth.

She was coached by Mark Petchey as coach from the Miami event through Wimbledon, with Francisco Roig stepping in for the US Open.

The initial agreement with the former trainer of Nadal was until the end of the season but they will keep working together, with planned training sessions in the coming months.

She mentioned that her three-day trial alongside Roig after Wimbledon was like a "covert operation" as they tried to keep the meeting secret.

The player was close to overcoming Sabalenka, the world number one at their first tournament together in Cincinnati during August.

Roig was also with Raducanu in New York, where she reached the third round then falling to Rybakina, champion at Wimbledon in 2022.
