Ex- Doctor Accused of Assault Allegations Involving 38 Individuals in His Care

Legal authorities have stated that a ex- doctor has been charged with committing assaults involving thirty-eight individuals who were patients.

The Serious Charges

Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with numerous sexual offences – some of which involve acts against minors under the age of thirteen – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021.

A deputy chief CPS official commented, “Legal teams have worked at length to support a thorough and intricate police inquiry, meticulously examining the evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to bring the case to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”

Scope of the Investigation

These allegations come after what investigators called a “complex investigation” into reported assaults at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and Russells Hall hospital.

Spencer is scheduled to appear at the local magistrates' court on 20 January.

List of Offences

The charging documents said the 45 sexual offences comprise:

• Fifteen counts of sexual assault.
• 17 counts of assault by penetration.
• 9 counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
• Three counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
• 1 count of attempting to assault by penetration.
