A popular South African media personality and entertainer has been murdered in the metropolis of Johannesburg, causing national outrage across a nation struggling with entrenched crime.
Warrick Stock, widely recognized as DJ Warras, was gunned down in the downtown area on a Tuesday afternoon.
Police said the forty-year-old media personality was approached by a trio of assailants, with one began shooting at him before fleeing on foot.
The motive of the incident is unknown and no arrests have taken place, according to authorities.
Authorities said that Stock was ambushed as he was departing from a premises in the vicinity of the city center landmark.
He had devoted time at the site managing the implementation of security systems, which had been reportedly taken over by unknown people, it was reported.
