On Friday midday, the thermometer reached ninety-one degrees Fahrenheit in the city center, according to meteorologists. This exceeds the previous daily record for February 27th, which was 31 degrees Celsius (88 Fahrenheit) and was set just last year.

"Very warm conditions" were noted on NWS graphics for the region.

The weather service stated that Friday's heat posed an "higher threat for heat illness" for vulnerable populations. Their advice included:
