Devoted fans of Ariana Grande are urging that a person who leaped a fence and touched the celebrity during the recent Wicked: For Good launch be detained or expelled from Singapore.
A circulating video shows the individual from Australia shoving aside camera operators and lunging at Grande while the cast walked down a yellow carpet flanked by supporters.
Cast member Cynthia Erivo quickly guided the shocked star away from Mr Wen, who was seen being led away of the gathering by event staff.
Mr Wen stated on Instagram late on Thursday that he was "released after being taken in", though official papers revealed that he was due to attend court on Friday morning. It is uncertain if he was charged.
This is not the first time for Mr Wen, who labels himself a "Notorious Troublemaker", has crashed a performance. His Instagram profile contains recordings of him disrupting other high-profile occasions, including breaching the performance area at the artist's Sydney show in earlier this year and in a similar way during The Chainsmokers performance in the same location last December.
"Measures must be taken taken against him as this is obviously a legal violation," commented an Instagram follower, in a reply to a video Mr Wen shared of his act.
"You've done this repeatedly... how are you not behind bars?" one Instagram user wrote.
Many fans blamed Mr Wen for "causing further distress" Grande, who had discussed dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder after a terrorist explosion at the finale of her 2017 performance in Manchester, killing 22 people and injuring numerous individuals.
"After everything she's faced... including the Manchester attack, you considered it entertaining to rush the barrier?" commented another comment on Instagram.
Some fans also faulted event staff at the premiere for not being vigilant enough; while others requested social media platforms to block Mr Wen's content.
In clips spreading on the internet, Grande appeared shocked when she was touched by the individual. Her cast members Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be observed reassuring her while Mr Wen was escorted away by security.
Grande has not issued a statement on the situation, and the premiere activities proceeded as normal.
Many of attendees had gathered in a sea of emerald and rose at the Wicked: For Good international premiere in a Singapore mall, including some who had stood in line for as long as a significant duration before it began.
The motion picture, to be released on November 21, is the follow-up of a dual adaptation of the well-known Broadway and West End production Wicked, which centers on the surprising relationship between two very different characters.
The show itself is a adaptation of the 1900 children's novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
Grande, who acts as the good witch Glinda, was decked out in a champagne pink sequin dress at the premiere while Erivo, who portrays the villainous character, wore a sleek black dress embroidered with roses.
They were accompanied by co-star Jeff Goldblum.
The previous installment, Wicked, was the most successful movie of 2024 in the UK, and received a dozen award recognitions, winning a pair for excellent wardrobe and production design.
