The Red Devils Set to Secure German Forward Lea Schüller from the Bavarian Giants

The Women's Super League club are finalising sealing the deal for prolific Germany forward Lea Schüller in a permanent move away from Bayern Munich.

A Marquee Signing for United

Schüller, who has six months left on her contract, has been a consistent goalscorer for her club and the national team. Having netted over 100 goals for the German giants and scored 54 times in 82 appearances for her country. Her arrival will be seen as a marquee coup for the Women’s Super League side.

Departure from Munich has been anticipated after she was seen holding back emotions while thanking the club's fans following a win over Bayer Leverkusen this month.

Reports in December that the Frauen-Bundesliga was losing one of its top forwards. Per reports, the formalities for the move are now finalised.

Consistent Goal Threat to Boost the Forward Line

The 28-year-old’s signing is expected to provide a major uplift to United’s forward line. Schüller has been highly reliable with her finishing in the Bundesliga.

• For seven consecutive seasons, up to and including the last term, she achieved at least a double-digit tally of league goals.
• She claimed the Golden Boot in the 2021-22 season with a haul of 16 goals.

Securing the German international coincides with a period when United seem to be building positive momentum.

Their recent on-pitch successes include securing a place in the European knockout phase playoffs as a seeded team and a victory in the League Cup quarter-finals.
