Alina Habba has stepped down as the chief federal prosecutor in the state. This decision was prompted by a court battle that questioned her legal standing to hold the office.

Official Departure

The nation's top law enforcement official, the Attorney General, accepted the prosecutor's departure on Monday. She commented that the court's "flawed" ruling made it impossible for the official to lead the department effectively.

"But do not mistake compliance for surrender," she wrote. "The effort will now reach across the nation."
