NFL 2025 season: Week six
Live coverage features live text of the weekend matchups on various channels, starting with Denver Broncos v New York Jets in London (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Additionally, audio coverage is available through select stations covering a separate game (beginning at 9 PM BST).
It's week six in the NFL season , following recent talk about the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles as a potential Super Bowl match-up, each surrendered their unbeaten records.
Notable during those contests was the amount of penalties both conceded. The Eagles committed them in key moments so they essentially beat themselves having led 17-3 entering the fourth period against Denver, set to play overseas this Sunday.
But it proved good to observe how Denver's QB Bo Nix managed to overcome that deficit before direct three scoring drives in three attempts during the final period, securing the game 21-17.
The Broncos have the defensive player of the year in cornerback their star corner. They rank number one in red zone defence, whereas the Eagles lead the league in red zone offence, yet Denver won that battle.
They executed effective strategies in terms of simulated pressure. They did not necessarily rushing extra pass rushers but they could plug two linebackers in the 'A' gap before drop them out and dispatch a slot defender from the outside.
At the start of the season, we said on a program how the Broncos might emerge as this season's dark horses. They finished the previous year strongly and excelled in continuing that momentum.
Are the Denver Broncos this year's underdog story?
Recently acquired tight end their tight end has stepped up big and new running back their rusher is a player the team trusts. He's currently 5th league-wide for rushing yards (402) and tied-fourth for rushing touchdowns (4).
It's impressive that head coach Sean Payton displays "RUN IT!" prominently on his call sheet.
That shows that the Broncos represent a squad that wants to prioritize the run, since you can achieve much based on that approach. It reduces opposing rushes while keeps you in favourable down and distances.
It's also helped quarterback Bo Nix, who came the NFL as a first-round selection last year, throwing 29 TDs – just behind Justin Herbert for the rookie record (31 in 2020).
Other elite QBs have the arm strength to throw all over, however they don't move the mobility that Nix has. He boasts exceptional arm talent, which is different, and he's highly agile.
His assets include his movement, the capacity to throw while moving, and finding different arm angles to deliver throws when he rolls out of the pocket, on rollouts. He can deliver precision throws across the middle or over the corner.
As a rookie QB, aged 25, he's got a lot of poise under pressure and is not really fazed by extra rushers. He aims to avoid being tackled as much as possible and is able throw under pressure. He has a high football IQ and remains very decisive.
When you consistently rush it consumes time and makes the opponent to stay in play for longer, and when you've got an athletic quarterback the defence has to defend the area vertically side to side. This proves draining.
The quarterback has pushed back with the coach during games at times and it seems the coach appreciates that fire, that he's a fierce rival. In my view it's exciting for the coach to coach a young quarterback that is kind of like play-dough. He can really build something up the way he wants to shape him. I think it's a special experience for him.
Payton owns a Super Bowl and now surpassed Bill Parcells in all-time victories (173, tying for 14th). He's seen everything. I think the achievements Denver are experiencing on offence is mostly down to his leadership, his schemes, his situational awareness – and the pairing with the QB helps shape him into who he is.
There's no better a more qualified person in your ear, to assist you during difficult moments and boost self-belief.
I believe in the Broncos' defense, in Bo Nix's tenacity and composure. Yet is the team strong enough to face an elite team at full strength? Because that wasn't a Super Bowl performance by the Eagles in their last game.
Right now, I don't think the Broncos are elite. They're performing better than most, that's a good place to hold their division. The key is to continue this trajectory.
They're really good at leaning into their strength, that is the ground game, and this is exactly what they must do against the Jets in London. It's going to be a Dobbins-focused game, essentially.
New York have allowed 140 yards on the ground per game (among the worst), five ground scores this season (10th worst), and they're the sole squad without a win a game.
Since the league began tracking takeaways in 1933, this team are also the inaugural squad to go without any turnovers through five games, this is kind of shocking considering that the head coach Aaron Glenn defensive co-ordinator with another team.
Patrick Mahomes stated Kansas City have 'already lost too many games' after a recent loss to Jacksonville.
Following this Sunday's game, the Broncos have a smooth-ish schedule up to their break (in week twelve) - the Giants, the Cowboys, Houston Texans plus Las Vegas Raiders prior to the Chiefs.
Looking at their division, the Chiefs hold a losing record while Denver are even with the Los Angeles Chargers on 3-2 meaning they could make a run at leading the West.
It depends upon what version Kansas City shows up they face since the Broncos {beat|def
